The Revolver

The Revolver cocktail is a relatively modern creation, crafted in the early 2000s by bartender Jon Santer in San Francisco. The drink is a twist on the classic Manhattan, featuring bourbon as its base spirit, complemented by coffee liqueur and orange bitters. The ingredients are stirred with ice, then strained into a chilled cocktail glass. A flamed orange peel garnish adds a final touch of aroma and flair.

The Revolver gained popularity due to its rich, complex flavor profile, combining the warmth of bourbon with the boldness of coffee and the brightness of orange. It has since become a favorite in cocktail bars and among enthusiasts, appreciated for its balance and simplicity.

Ingredients

2 Oz Bourbon ( recommend something higher proof)

1/2 Oz Coffee Liqueur (recommend something sweeter)

2-4 Dashes Orange Bitters

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir well to chill and dilute. Strain into a pre-chilled cocktail glass of your choice (though we like a Nick and Nora or other nice stemmed piece). Using a lit pick or a match express orange peel oils across the flame onto the cocktail. Note: allow match head to burn off before expressing oils. Rim the glass with then discard the peel. Serve and enjoy!
